It can eventually become unblockable of course, but paying 4 to make your 1/1 unblockable is going to feel really bad sometimes, especially because the Thief is so darn easy to kill

if you want a general zombie commander, there are better options

Blue has plenty of cards like Aphetto Alchemist and Fatestitcher to untap this and draw multiple cards, and you can repurpose many of those cards into combo pieces that win the game
